Topics
This session will highlight the wide range of experiences and difficulties faced by individuals whose gender identity differs from their assigned sex at birth and the professionals helping them navigate these difficulties. Addressing these challenges effectively requires a comprehensive approach that integrates research, evidence-based treatments and educational initiatives. Such an approach would not only include scientific research, but also intensive research on the patient’s history, followed by the necessary assessments, the suitable time frame that would inform the best course forward and educating these individuals on the best course forward in order to make a better-informed decision. Such a holistic approach not only supports the well-being of individuals facing gender identity challenges but also promotes a more inclusive and understanding society.
This session will explore the importance of freedom of speech, research and education in mental health practices. As it is essential for innovation, human rights protection, educational quality & intellectual exploration, suitable treatment courses, community resilience, combating discrimination and enforced ideologies. Professionals should not be afraid to openly discuss their views and findings, conduct related research, educate each other and their patients about the long-term effects of their decisions. However, professionals are in fear of losing their practices, licenses or being labeled as something they are not, which is drastically affecting the delivery of care. It is essential to develop and communicate policies that promote dialogue and encourage scientific research in order to protect the rights of all individuals, including those with opposing views.
This session will emphasize on the importance of protecting and developing family structures and values for sustainable societies and enhanced population health. The family unit is an unparalleled player for maintaining health and preventing disease for public health because members may support and nurture one another through life stages and over time. The family’s capacity to nurture, care, protect, teach, and influence throughout the life course makes it an effective entry point in the promotion and maintenance of individual and collective health and an important component for public health practice. This requires addressing the social determinants of health, which includes both social and physical environments where people are born, live, work and age. These social determinants that are being influenced by external factors that aim to weaken the family structure.
